Terms of Service

Welcome to Keepli! These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the Keepli bookmark management service ("Service") operated by Remi Perray ("we", "us", "our"). By using Keepli, you agree to these Terms.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By creating an account or using Keepli, you agree to be bound by these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

2. Description of Service

Keepli is a bookmark management service that allows you to:

  • Save and organize web bookmarks
  • Automatically categorize and tag bookmarks using AI
  • Access bookmarks via web app and browser extension
  • Read saved articles in a distraction-free reader mode
  • Share bookmarks and collections (optional)

3. Account Registration

3.1 Eligibility

You must be at least 16 years old to use Keepli. By registering, you represent that you meet this age requirement.

3.2 Account Security

You are responsible for:

  • Maintaining the confidentiality of your password
  • All activities that occur under your account
  • Notifying us immediately of any unauthorized access

We are not liable for any loss resulting from unauthorized use of your account.

3.3 Account Information

You agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information during registration and to update it as necessary.

4. Subscription and Payments

4.1 Free and Paid Plans

Keepli offers both free and paid subscription plans. The features available depend on your subscription tier. Current pricing is displayed on our Pricing page.

4.2 Payment Processing

Payments are processed by Lemon Squeezy. By subscribing to a paid plan, you also agree to Lemon Squeezy's terms of service.

4.3 Billing

  • Subscriptions are billed monthly or annually, depending on your choice
  • Prices include applicable VAT for EU customers
  • Automatic renewal occurs unless you cancel before the renewal date

4.4 Cancellation and Refunds

  • You may cancel your subscription at any time from account settings
  • Access continues until the end of your current billing period
  • Refunds are handled on a case-by-case basis; contact us within 14 days of purchase for refund requests

5. Acceptable Use

5.1 You Agree NOT to:

  • Use Keepli for any illegal purpose
  • Store or share illegal content (piracy, child exploitation, etc.)
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to our systems
  • Use automated systems to abuse the Service (bots, scrapers)
  • Interfere with or disrupt the Service
  • Share your account credentials with others
  • Resell or redistribute the Service
  • Use the Service to spam or harass others

5.2 Content Responsibility

You are solely responsible for the content you save. We do not monitor bookmarks but reserve the right to remove content that violates these Terms or applicable law.

6. Intellectual Property

6.1 Our Property

The Keepli name, logo, software, and documentation are our intellectual property. You may not copy, modify, or distribute them without permission.

6.2 Your Content

You retain ownership of all bookmarks and data you save to Keepli. By using the Service, you grant us a limited license to store, process, and display your content solely to provide the Service.

7. AI Features

Keepli uses AI (via OpenAI) to automatically categorize and tag bookmarks. By using this feature:

  • You acknowledge that AI classifications may not always be accurate
  • Page titles and descriptions may be processed by OpenAI
  • You can manually override any AI-generated tags or categories

8. Service Availability

8.1 Uptime

We strive for high availability but do not guarantee uninterrupted access. The Service may be temporarily unavailable due to maintenance, updates, or factors beyond our control.

8.2 Modifications

We may modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Service at any time. We will provide reasonable notice for significant changes.

9. Data and Privacy

Your privacy is important to us. Please review our Privacy Policy to understand how we collect, use, and protect your data.

10. Termination

10.1 By You

You may delete your account at any time from account settings. Upon deletion, all your data will be permanently removed within 30 days.

10.2 By Us

We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms. In case of serious violations, termination may be immediate and without refund.

11. Disclaimer of Warranties

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE ERROR-FREE, SECURE, OR UNINTERRUPTED.

12. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING LOSS OF DATA OR PROFITS, ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE.

OUR TOTAL LIABILITY SHALL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID FOR THE SERVICE IN THE 12 MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM.

13. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold us harmless from any claims, damages, or expenses arising from your use of the Service or violation of these Terms.

14. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of France. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of France, unless otherwise required by consumer protection laws in your jurisdiction.

15. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes via email or in-app notification. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.
